When the Paperbark trees are flowering in my garden the Lorikeets come in large number and chatter and squabble as they push each other off the branches to get to the flowers.  It is a wonderful source of many photographs so I had lots of reference photos for this painting.  It is a very colourful painting on a circular timber art board.  I used various techniques to achieve the impression of foliage in the background and then painted the birds loosely on the branch.  Circular paintings can look extremely interesting and this one is very colourful and would suit most rooms.
