We are so fortunate to have these very pretty little birds in our area.  They are delightful little things always flitting around and sitting sideways on the trunks of the trees.  This particular one came to sit very near while we were having a picnic and posed for me while I took some great shots.  This is an impressionistic painting of the background and the bird using layers of colourful paint and a palette knife for most of it.  It is painted on a circular timber art board and would make a very interesting piece on any wall.
