These demure looking Kookaburras were sitting in a tree very near where we had parked our caravan in the bush.  We set up our BBQ and put our meat on a plate at the side of the BBQ while we set up the table and chairs.  As soon as we turned our backs, one of the Kookas flew down and carried off the sausages still all joined together.  We soon learned they are not as demure as they look.

I promised myself I would paint this pair of cheeky birds and here is the result.   It is a reasonably detailed painting but with plenty of harmonious colours to complement the lovely kookas.  It is finished off with a timber frame.  If you like Kookas it is a lovely way of bringing them into the house.
