This artwork is an original oil painting and was created after receiving a beautiful spray of orchids. Orchids are the most highly coveted of ornamental plants. The delicate, exotic and graceful orchid represents love, luxury, beauty and strength. The orchid is also considered a feng shui plant and is believed to bring prosperity and good luck to the owner. Unfortunately they do not last forever and so I wanted to capture the unique beauty of these graceful flowers. I drew the beautiful shapes first in acrylics and then finished the painting with water-based oils giving me the opportunity to take my time to further bring out the lovely shapes and add subtle changes in colour. The result is a large rendition of a very beautiful spray of flowers which would enhance any décor and would bring calm and beauty to any room. It is painted on a high quality stretched canvas.
