I have often hiked (or tramped, if you are in NZ) in the high country and love looking down on hidden tarns with misty clouds all around. This is my impression of one of those hikes.  The added beauty in spring is that the wild Thyme flowers on the hillsides and gives a lovely pinky/plurple hue to the mountains.  The painting has lots of harmonious colours, plenty of texture and lots of dribbly marks which give the painting that fresh impressionist appeal.  It would look lovely in any room.
